Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau's avalanche risk metric is rated as high today, April 19.
According to CBJ's Emergency Management, the high temperatures at night and the increasing heat throughout the day will cause avalanche danger to rise through the afternoon and evening. "Especially on sunny slopes," said the risk report.
Tom Mattice with the Emergency Management office, says to stay off the Flume Trail and the gated areas behind Behrends Avenue while the risk remains high. He says to not park along Thane Road.
