13 new cases for April 17-19

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau had 13 new resident cases of COVID-19 over the period of April 17 through 19.

    Five of the cases have been attributed to secondary transmission, three to community spread, two are from travel out of state, and three are being investigated. Out of the 13, three of the cases are previously reported individuals linked to Thunder Mountain High School, and another is a crew member from the Matanuska.

    There are 26 active cases in Juneau.

    Four hundred forty-nine new people were reported with COVID-19 in the state over the weekend and Monday, 17 of that total are nonresidents.
